Families-
I don’t know how I could possibly thank you enough for all you do. You amaze and inspire me every day. It is such a gift to be able to work with your children, and I so appreciate your trust in me with some of the most important people in your life. I have learned so much from you and your children. Every year I am in awe of how much I feel I didn’t know the year before because every day your families give me so much new knowledge and understanding.
Teaching any student, and especially students with special needs, requires collaboration. The communication and support between you and I is so critical to our students’ success. I could not have asked for a more wonderful group of families to do just this. Day in and day out you communicate with me about what’s going on at home, you collaborate with me to come up with goals, supports, and plans at school, you talk to me in a minute’s notice to address important situations in the middle of the school day. You volunteer your time, resources, energy, and ideas with our classroom. You offer me feedback to help make this classroom better. Your gifts to me and this classroom are innumerable and I am entirely grateful for all you do.
Most of all, you love your children. While I get to work with your children and care about them deeply, my time with them is such a small slice compared to what you do. Every day you are responsible for their safety and happiness. You are there for them in health, sickness, happiness, sadness, school days, vacation, good days and bad. I admire you. You know your child better than anyone in the world, and this knowledge and intuition helps me support them and you.
Every day I am grateful for the amazing people that I get to work with. I am so fortunate to get to work with such amazing kids AND families. Thank you, over and over, for all you do. I truly look forward to another amazing year with everybody. Have a fantastic summer!

PS Thank you so much for the generous gift today! Oh my gosh. You all are so sneaky. I can hardly wait to go crazy at REI! Really, the perfect store for me. I’ll have to do a summer update of my new toysJ
PS This summer I will be busy here with tutoring, babysitting, volunteering, running, and climbing. I’ll also hopefully be taking several climbing trips. So, I may not be as accessible. However, I will check e-mail from time to time, so feel free to check in and let me know if you need anything!
